Privacy Policy

2FA Authenticator SL is designed as a local-first app. This policy explains what information is processed by the app and when third-party services may process information.

1. 2FA accounts and password vault

Your 2FA secrets, accounts and passwords are stored locally on your Android device. The developer does not operate an account service or server that receives the contents of your 2FA vault or password vault.

2. Encrypted backups

When you choose to create a backup, the app generates an encrypted, password-protected backup file. You choose where that file is stored or shared through Android file and storage features. If you store it with an external storage provider, that provider's privacy policy also applies.

3. Imports and QR codes

QR codes and import files are processed to create or import accounts. Imported 2FA information is not saved to the app's account storage until you confirm the import.

4. Advertising and consent

The app may display banner ads through Google AdMob. Google's Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform (UMP) may process advertising-related information, device information and consent choices under Google's terms and privacy policy. Where required, a consent flow is shown before ads are requested.

5. Permissions

The app may request permissions when a feature needs them, such as camera access for QR scanning or notification permission for optional backup reminders. You can manage Android permissions in device settings.

6. Screenshots and app PIN

Screenshot protection is intended to reduce the risk of sensitive information being captured in screenshots. A local PIN can be used to lock the app. These features are processed on the device.

7. Deletion

You can delete stored accounts and passwords in the app. Android's clear-app-data function removes local app data from the device. Backup files you exported yourself must be deleted from the storage location where you saved them.

8. Children

The app is not designed to knowingly collect children's personal information through any developer-operated account service. Third-party advertising is subject to Google's policies and your consent choices.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated as app features or third-party services change. The latest version will be published on this page.

Important: 2FA secrets and passwords are sensitive. Store exported backup files and backup passwords securely.
